Be the master of your own loan*
Our personal line of credit is perfect for those who need an occasional cash infusion to cover bills, repairs or purchases. You decide when to access the money and exactly how much you want to borrow.
Personal Line of Credit Overview
United Bank branches in Massachusetts and Connecticut offer personal lines of credit that can be easily accessed by electronic banking. Depending on your credit rating, you can borrow between $2,500 and $20,000 over a five-year period.
Our line of credit puts you in control. You decide when you need the money, how much you’re going to need, and what you’re going to use it for. And you can draw upon your account repeatedly over the course of 60 months.
You also control the monthly payments. You can pay the minimum amount, or you can pay off everything you owe -- or something in between. And after the five-year borrowing period is over, you’ll still have 36 more months to finish making payments.
You lead a busy life, so there’s no need to visit a United Bank branch every time you need to access your line of credit. You can tap into the money easily through our convenient electronic banking services.
No Collateral Necessary
Because we issue personal lines of credit only to customers with good to excellent credit ratings, we don’t require you to put up your house, car or savings as collateral. That leaves those assets available to work for you in other ways.
Your personal line of credit carries a variable interest rate. That means when national rates drop, your rate will too. You’ll also benefit from us charging interest only on the money you have used so far and not on the total amount you are authorized to borrow.
United Bank charges only $50 a year to maintain a personal line of credit. Even better: The fee is waived if you have a Premier checking account with us.
