United Bank Bolsters its Mortgage Lending Team for the Central Mass & Greater Boston Markets
William H.W. Crawford, IV, Chief Executive Officer of United Financial Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: UBNK) and United Bank of Glastonbury, Conn., today announced that the Bank’s recently-created, greater Boston-based loan production office has bolstered its strong lending team with the addition of Rick Renaud of Paxton, Massachusetts and Ehren Roder of Needham, Massachusetts.
enaud joined United Bank in April 2012 and is a mortgage loan officer, based at the Bank’s Chadwick Square branch in Worcester, with 14 years of experience in the banking industry. Prior to joining United, Renaud was with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage for 10 years where he focused on new construction and VA lending. He also earned Wells Fargo’s Rookie of the Year Award in 2002. Renaud’s primary focus with United Bank is the central Massachusetts geography, including new construction lending in that market.
Renaud, a resident of Paxton, is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He is also a longtime member of the Builders Association of Central Massachusetts and the National Association of Home Builders. He also served as an Affiliate Member of The Worcester Regional Association of Realtors and the Central Mass Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors.
Ehren Roder, who recently joined the United Bank team as a mortgage loan officer for the greater Boston market, has been in the banking industry for 13 years, coming to the Bank from PrimeLending Boston where he helped create the company’s Boston-based presence.
Previously, Roder spent 12 years with Wells Fargo in various roles, including Branch Manager for its Private Mortgage Banking where he oversaw the administration, sales leadership, full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility, recruiting and personal production. He also held other positions including Sales Manager, Private Mortgage Banker and Home Mortgage Consultant. While at Wells, Roder also received top rankings for production, customer loyalty and mortgage volume.
Roder is very active in the Needham community where he volunteers for the Needham Parent Teacher Association for the Newman Elementary School as well as a coach for the local baseball and basketball programs in town.
Renaud and Roder are part of the sales team led by James Picciotto, Vice President and Sales Manager, who alone brings more than 25 years of mortgage banking experience to United Bank. The team also includes Leonard Tocci, another mortgage loan officer recently hired by legacy Rockville Bank who has 30 years of experience in mortgage banking, particularly in eastern Massachusetts.
“High performers like Rick and Ehren come to United Bank and stay with United Bank because we have an attractive banking platform, offer quick turnaround times and local decision making on loans and built a reputation for being one of the top lenders in the region,” said Crawford. “As we expand our geography to new markets, we look for experienced lenders like Rick and Ehren who can drive value while increasing mortgage production capacity. They have the reputation, business relationships and industry experience we need to succeed in the greater Boson and central Massachusetts markets and we are proud to have them on the United Bank team.”
United’s number of commission-based mortgage loan officers grew from only 12 in 2012 to more than 30 mortgage lenders as of August 2014, complemented by the expansion of its mortgage banking footprint beyond its legacy markets, including one of its newest LPOs in close proximity to Boston.
