The Rockville Bank Foundation Honors Local High School Seniors 5/12/2014
The Foundation Awards over $66,000 in Academic Scholarships & Vocational Awards in 2014; More than $530,000 Since 1999
The Rockville Bank Foundation recently awarded 34 scholarships totaling $66,250 to local high school seniors who will be graduating in 2014.
Nineteen Academic Scholarships were awarded to college-bound high school students who have demonstrated leadership, community involvement and a strong academic background. The Foundation also provided Vocational Awards to recognize an additional 15 students who not only excelled in vocational arts but also demonstrated a high level of character and integrity in school and in the community. The Vocational Award is given to students who anticipate joining the workforce immediately following graduation or will be participating in work-related, occupational training.
Since 1999, the year the Rockville Bank Foundation began this generous Scholarship Program, the Foundation has awarded a total of more than $530,000 to local graduating students. Students eligible for the scholarships must reside in communities where a Rockville Bank branch is located.
