Rockville Bank Recruits Another Leading Mortgage Lender to Enhance its Consumer Lending Team
William H. W. Crawford, IV, President and Chief Executive Officer of Rockville Bank and Rockville Financial, Inc. announced the hiring of Brian L. Pelletier of Manchester, Conn., a proven mortgage loan officer (MLO) who will bolster Rockville’s already successful revenue driving lending team, complement the Bank’s organic growth strategy and build on its strong consumer lending trends.
Pelletier, named a Five Star Mortgage Professional in 2013 for outstanding service, comes to Rockville Bank from First Niagara Bank, where he held various positions including Residential Lending Specialist and Interim Sales Manager; Senior Mortgage Consultant; and Senior Mortgage Loan Officer. There he managed private client service relationships, managed a team of MLOs and implemented sales and marketing strategies. He also earned a prestigious company award in 2012 and 2013 for successfully meeting his performance goals.
Prior to First Niagara, Pelletier was a loan officer for Freedom Mortgage of Rocky Hill, Conn. from 2008 to 2009 and a Sales Representative for GMAC Mortgage of South Windsor, Conn. from 1999 to 2008.
Rockville Financial, Inc., the parent company of Rockville Bank, announced in its fourth quarter earnings on January 27 that the Company significantly increased market share in the mortgage business for each of the Metropolitan Statistical Areas (“MSA”) it operates in, including the Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford MSA, where the Bank moved to 6th
place in 2013 from 12th
place in 2012. Rockville Bank also remains the number one mortgage lender in Tolland County. Overall, for the State of Connecticut, the Company was reported to have the 16th
highest market share for mortgage originations in 2013, an increase from 21st
position in 2012.
“Our residential mortgage business continues to evolve with the recent addition of six talented, revenue driving loan originators like Brian who can immediately make a positive impact on expanding our production capacity and helping us capture more market share in our existing and newer markets,” said Crawford. “Recruiting talented, top producing MLOs is a sound strategic step in making mortgage banking at Rockville Bank a significant driver in our Company’s profits. That is why with the addition of Brian and the growth of our consumer lending team, I am pleased with the progress we are making toward increasing our capacity while expanding to additional robust markets.”
“As a mortgage loan officer in this area for many years, I have had the opportunity to witness Rockville Bank evolve, particularly with their strategic expansion of their mortgage banking division,” said Pelletier. “It’s an exciting time to be at Rockville Bank, not only for employees, but for our customers who want to work with a loan officer who can provide local decisions on their loans with quick turnaround times. I am happy to part of a team that can deliver on it.”
In addition to his professional accomplishments and accolades, in 2011 Pelletier received an Official Citation from the State of Connecticut in recognition of his contribution to Manchester’s Home Ownership Assistance for Neighborhood and Community Development Program along with its Pilot Down Payment Assistance Program.
Pelletier’s hiring builds on Rockville’s recent announcement that they recruited four experienced, recognized and accomplished mortgage banking professionals who will head up the Bank’s new loan production offices (LPOs) serving the greater Boston area and Fairfield County, Connecticut.
Pelletier will be based at 95 Glastonbury Boulevard in Glastonbury, Conn. He resides in Manchester, Conn
