United Bank Foundation CT Donates $20K to the Greater Hartford Arts Council

United Bank Foundation Connecticut has generously donated $20,000 to support the Greater Hartford Arts Council’s United Arts Campaign kick-off event, Big Red for the Arts. The event, which will be held March 10th at The Hartford Club, marks the start of the 2016 United Arts Campaign and the Arts Council’s 45th  anniversary celebrations.

“We’re so grateful to United Bank for their ongoing commitment to our region and for again stepping up to support the arts as lead sponsor of Big Red,” said Cathy Malloy, CEO of the Greater Hartford Arts Council. “This exciting event brings the business and arts community of Greater Hartford together to celebrate the important work being done in our communities through the arts and always gets the United Arts Campaign off to a great start!”

Big Red is the Arts Council’s signature fundraising event featuring food from the area’s top restaurants, wines and spirits from around the world, and, for the first time this year, an arts showcase by community artists, including local veterans and hospital patients. All proceeds benefit the United Arts Campaign, which supports arts organizations and programs that provide educational opportunities, celebrate diversity, and drive the local economy.

“Our commitment to the Greater Hartford Arts Council is more than being the lead sponsor of their much anticipated annual fundraising event. We’re also honored to be a key partner with this nationally- recognized, highly-respected cultural organization that continues to make a profound impact on the arts in the Capital region,” said William H.W. Crawford, IV, CEO, United Bank. “Not only do we wish the Greater Hartford Arts Council and its supporters all the best for another successful Big Red event, but we congratulate them on their 45th  Anniversary and express our sincere gratitude for the work they do to support the region’s economy, the arts and the communities we both serve.”
