$25,000 United Bank Foundation grant will foster Southington YMCA expansion, growth – November 2013
The United Bank Foundation’s $25,000 total donation to the Southington-Cheshire Community YMCA over the next three years is earmarked to support capital improvement and expansion projects at the Y’s Southington facility, according to Foundation President Dena M. Hall.
The projects include renovations and expansion at the Y’s flagship facility on High Street with a major goal of bringing many of the programs now scattered throughout the Southington community back into the central location, creating operational efficiencies and considerable future cost savings.
Plans also include pool and locker room improvements, parking lot expansion, and a 10,000-square-foot addition to the High Street building.
All of these projects will add to the Y’s ability to further its mission and expand its impact on the community, Hall said.
“United Bank is pleased to help the Southington-Cheshire Community YMCA achieve its long-term goals,” she added.
