United Bank Sponsors Vernon's July in the Sky Fireworks
William H.W. Crawford, IV, CEO of United Bank and Chairman of the United Bank Foundation Connecticut, today announced that the Foundation donated $5,000 to the Town of Vernon in support of their 71st
annual “July in the Sky Fireworks” which took place on Wednesday, July 6, 2016.
Last year, the event attracted over 12,000 people from the Greater Vernon area and beyond to watch the fireworks display, primarily from two designated viewing areas - Downtown Rockville and Henry Park in Vernon. Vernon officials consider their “July in the Sky Fireworks” event to be one of the best and among the largest fireworks events in the state of Connecticut.
“When the residents in this part of the state think of the 4th
of July, Vernon’s ‘July in the Sky Fireworks’ is always top-of-mind. For 71 years, generations of families have made this much-anticipated annual event a family tradition. It’s a grand display that draws thousands of people of all ages to the Vernon-Rockville area and we’re proud to partner with the town and its volunteers to help them deliver an amazing experience year-after-year,” said Crawford.
