United Bank Foundation Donates $10,000 to Covenant Preparatory School
William H.W. Crawford, IV, Chief Executive Officer of United Bank and Chairman of the United Bank Foundation Connecticut, today announced that the Foundation has donated $10,000 to Covenant Preparatory School, an independent day school dedicated to meeting the education needs of under-served families.
Located at the YWCA building in downtown Hartford, Covenant Preparatory School opened in 2008 and is a tuition-free school that provides challenging academic programming to boys in grades 5 through 8 so they are educationally and socially prepared for high school and better positioned for a successful life after they complete their schooling. Covenant Prep relies on funding from individual donors, corporate sponsorships, grants and foundations like the United Bank Foundation Connecticut.
“At United Bank, the word ‘excellence’ is attributed to everything we do. So what immediately caught my attention about Covenant Preparatory is their commitment to graduating young men who are inspired to always pursue their own excellence when it comes to school, family and their respective communities,” said William H.W. Crawford, CEO of United Bank and Chairman of the United Bank Foundation Connecticut.
“And it’s not just about students striving for excellence. It’s also about Covenant’s partnership with parents, staff and volunteers to ensure local students enrolled in this school are academic leaders in school and community leaders throughout their life.”
