United Bank Cuts Ribbon to New Location in Worcester
Joined by city officials, Chamber of Commerce representatives, customers and bank employees, United Bank’s Worcester Commercial and Retail Banking teams this week (January 30) officially cut the ribbon to the Bank’s newest location at One Mercantile Street.
Nearly 50 people turned out for the special and long-awaited event, including the President of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce Tim Murray, Worcester’s City Manager Edward Augustus Jr., customers and business leaders representing various downtown law practices, accounting firms and others.
The Worcester Banking Team relocated to One Mercantile Street at the end of 2016, vacating its previous location at 33 Waldo Street. Not only does this new location provide ample space on the first floor for the Retail Banking branch and prime office space on the seventh floor for United’s Commercial bankers, One Mercantile Street delivers significant corporate branding opportunities on the street level as well as a more central location to build new banking relationships in downtown Worcester.
In a joint statement, Tom McGregor (SVP, Regional Commercial Banking Executive) and Kathy Trainor (VP, Area Branch Manager), said, “United’s investment in this new location underscores our long-term commitment to downtown Worcester. By moving to One Mercantile Street, United Bank has become a key partner in the exciting revitalization of Mercantile Center and the City Square area of the City. It not only gives us a first-class location for our customers to conduct their banking activity but Mercantile Center offers a better opportunity for our retail and commercial bankers to build new banking relationships, strengthen the ones we already have in downtown Worcester and give us greater exposure in an exciting location that is more reflective of United Bank.”
“United has proudly earned the reputation across our entire footprint for being a bank where the best bankers want to work. That’s certainly the case with our Worcester retail banking teams and Tom McGregor’s commercial banking team who we recruited two years ago to help make us the bank of choice in Worcester,” said William H.W. Crawford, IV, CEO of United Bank. “Our new location in the City will give our customers what they expect and deserve when they bank at One Mercantile Street: access to talented commercial bankers and a retail branch team who make an exceptional banking experience and their customers’ financial needs top priorities.”
In addition to the retail banking branch and commercial loan production office, One Mercantile Street is United Bank’s regional office for the Worcester market.
United’s Kathy Trainor and Tom McGregor are joined by Tim Murray, Edward Augustus, Jr., United Bank Teammates and others in officially cutting the ribbon to their new downtown Worcester location at One Mercantile Street.
