United Bank Branches Collecting for Toys for Tots
The United Bank Team is showing its Holiday Spirit and sharing Season’s Greetings by once again participating in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s annual Toys for Tots Program.
United Bank employees are collecting new, unwrapped toys at all of their 52 retail banking branches throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts in support of Toys for Tots and the millions of children this program serves.
Appropriate toy donations can be dropped off at United Bank branch locations for children up to age 12 and will be accepted through Saturday, December 9.
“Every year the United Bank team looks for a great cause that spreads the joy and excitement of the Holiday Season to people of all ages. We are partnering with Toys for Tots again this year not only to support them in delivering gifts of hope to less fortunate children but also help them in their mission to enable kids to become responsible, productive and patriotic citizens,” said William H.W. Crawford, IV, United Bank’s CEO
. “After witnessing the outpouring of support for the campaign last year, we wanted to do it again because of the generosity of our customers and the communities we serve is truly heartwarming.”
Toys for Tots does not accept realistic looking weapons or gifts with food. If donated, such items will not be distributed. If you would like to drop off a new, unwrapped toy, go to www.bankatunited.com

The Toys for Tots Program, founded in 1947, collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community. Their objective is to not only help less fortunate children experience the joy of Christmas but also participate in the development of these deserving children, unite the community for three months each year with an annual toy collection and distribution campaign, and make a meaningful impact on the communities it serves.
According to the Program, they collected and distributed 18 million toys to seven million less fortunate children in 2016 who experienced the joy of Christmas and received a message of hope that otherwise would not have happened. Last year this annual community action effort took place in 792 communities covering all 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Since its inception, the Marine Toys for Tots Program distributed over 530 million toys to over 244 million less fortunate children. To learn more about Toys for Tots, please visit www.toysfortots.org
