United Bank’s Maureen Hanley-Bellitto to be Named ‘Woman of the Year’

United Bank of Glastonbury, Connecticut today proudly announced that Maureen Hanley-Bellitto, Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending for United’s Fairfield County Division, will be presented the ‘Woman of the Year Award’ from the Homebuilders & Remodelers Association of Fairfield County (HBRA) and their charitable organization, the Building Hope Foundation.

Hanley-Bellitto will be honored at the Building Hope Foundation’s Gala “A Celebration of Hope” which will be held on December 5, 2015 at the Water’s Edge at Giovanni’s in Darien. Each year the HBRA presents awards and recognitions to association members for their excellence in their respective industry.

The Building Hope Foundation presents their philanthropic awards to both association members and non-members for their outstanding commitment of donated time and resources to the Building Hope Foundation, a non-profit organization that benefits disadvantaged homeowners, veterans and special needs children in Fairfield County. The Foundation also provides scholarships to young people interested in pursuing construction-related careers as well as to HBRA members and dependents.

The Woman of the Year Award is given to a woman leader in Fairfield County in recognition of her contributions to HBRA and/or the building industry as a whole. Hanley-Bellitto was selected because of her devotion to the betterment of HBRA, her commitment to advancing the industry and her overall reputation as a businesswoman in Fairfield County. Other award winners being recognized that evening will include the Builder of the Year, Remodeler of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, President’s Award and additional honorees.

“On behalf of the United Bank Team, I would like to publicly congratulate Maureen on earning this wonderful recognition and wholeheartedly thank her for all she does in Fairfield County not only for our customers but for charitable organizations like the Building Hope Foundation that dedicates significant time and resources to making this part of Connecticut an even better place to live and work,” said William H.W. Crawford, IV, Chief Executive Officer of United Bank and United Financial Bancorp, Inc. (“UBNK”). “Maureen is a model community banking teammate – she has strong professional ties to Fairfield County with deep local roots in an area she cares passionately about as a banker and community servant. She is very well-deserving of this honor and we are very proud of her.”

Hanley-Bellitto, who joined United Bank over a year ago and is based at their loan production office at 55 Green Farms Road in Westport, is the Immediate Past President of HBRA of Fairfield County and has been actively involved with the organization for nearly 15 years.
