Matthew Somuk Named Private Mortgage Banker
United Bank today announced that Matthew C. Somuk of Wallingford, Conn. has taken on a new role at United as Private Mortgage Banker. Somuk, who has been with United as a Premier Banker since 2017, is now part of United’s Fairfield County Private Mortgage Banking Team.
Somuk’s experience in the financial services industry, and his commitment to customer service, spans over 15 years, which includes more than ten years in mortgage lending – most of that time spent with Mortgage Lenders Network of Middletown, Conn. He started his career in mortgage lending in 1997 with Personal Mortgage Corporation in New York. In 2008, he made a career transition to investment services with Prudential Annuities until 2014 when he joined First Niagara Bank.
Somuk started with United in 2017 as a Premier Banker and has now returned to mortgage banking as a Private Mortgage Banker, joining the Bank’s Fairfield County Private Mortgage Banking Team in November. He is based at United Bank’s Cheshire branch at 286 Maple Avenue.
Somuk, who resides with his family in Wallingford, is a martial arts instructor under the Royce Gracie Network and a 1997 graduate of Marist College of Poughkeepsie, New York, where he was a 4-year NCAA varsity football player.
