Golam Ahmed Named Private Mortgage Banker
United Bank today announced that Golam M. Ahmed of South Glastonbury, Conn. has taken on a new role at United Bank as a Private Mortgage Banker. Ahmed, who has been with United as a Premier Banker since 2016, is now part of the Bank’s Hartford County Private Mortgage Banking Team.
Ahmed’s experience in the financial services industry, and his commitment to customer service, spans over 28 years, including various roles in retail and mortgage banking and financial services. He started his career in retail banking in 1989 with Mechanics Savings Bank. Later, he went on to work for Tolland Bank, New Alliance Bank and First Niagara Bank as a Branch Manager. In 2014 while at First Niagara, Ahmed made a career transition to investment services.
Ahmed joined United Bank in 2016 as a Premier Banker. Recently, he switched back to mortgage banking when he joined United’s Private Mortgage Banking Team.
Ahmed, who resides with his family in South Glastonbury, is a member of the South Windsor Lion’s Club and served as Director/Treasurer for the South Windsor Chamber of Commerce from 2001 to 2012. He is a 1985 graduate of the University of North Texas where he earned a degree in Finance.
